Those of you who follow our blog will have read some of our posts about certified translation, a professional service that we offer here at Tatutrad mainly through our certified English-Spanish translator, Loli. We also offer certified translation services from or into other languages through our network of professional certified translators who we work with on a regular basis.
In the first post we explained who is eligible to be a certified translator, the work of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEUEC —previously known as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, MAEC—) in this area, the regulations, and the exam to become a certified translator and how to prepare for it, and we summarised the details that must be included on the stamp, which is very important to verify whether the translation has been done by an official certified translator.
This introductory post is key for learning more about the work of certified translators, and we recommend anyone requiring this professional service has a read.
In the second post we focused on the misconceptions surrounding certified translation, a highly recommended article if you want a professionally done translation and to not make the mistake of resorting to a free translator, for example.
In this post, we’d like take a closer look at the work undertaken by the two certified English-Spanish translators at our agency, Loli and Lidya, so that you see how we work and aren’t in two minds about choosing us as your professional language service provider.
Here’s a practical example to gain a better understanding of the process.
Let’s imagine that you’re going to Spain to work and are asked for an official certified translation of your documents. From experience, the documents requested include your ID card or passport, criminal records, civil registration certificates, medical records, bank information, degree certificates and academic transcripts, etc.
These are the steps you need to take so that we can give you a quote for the official certified translation:
- Send us an email indicating which documents you need to translate and the date you need them by, the language they need to be translated into (in this case, Spanish) and, of course, any questions you may have.
Ideally, you’d also attach a scanned copy of the documents so that we can give you a quote for their certified translation into Spanish.
- We’ll get back to you with a quote as soon as possible, always bearing in mind that the translation will be done by certified translators with the utmost professionalism.
- If you accept the quote, we’ll get to work translating your documents. Together with the official certified translation, which must include the certified English-Spanish translator’s signature and stamp, as well as the relevant certificate, we’ll attach a stamped and dated copy of the original document to comply with the new legislation of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
- If you wish, we can prepare various copies; just let us know when requesting the quote and we’ll take it into account to offer you a personalised quotation for the certified translation.
This is especially useful if, let’s say, you’re applying for various grants and have to provide several organisation with the same translated document.
- Once translated, all that’s left to do is collect your copy of the official certified translation. Remember, you need the hard copy (organisations don’t usually accept digital copies) so, you can either pick up the documentation from the Tatutrad office in Seville, or alternatively, let us know the address where you would like it sent.
Of course, our certified English-Spanish translators can answer any questions you may have about the documents you must hand in to the receiving organisation.
We’ll always try to offer you guidance not only on your questions around certified translation, but also on the administrative processes that may seem somewhat complex a priori, such as the Hague Apostille, legalisation or notary protocols.
With the proper advice, everything will seem much more straightforward and the process of moving to another country will be less stressful, with no setbacks along the way, all thanks to our professional translation services.
And if you need a certified translation into another language, whatever it may be, we can also help you out thanks to the large network of professional certified translators who we work with to cover all the languages required by our clients. Whatever the country requesting the official certified translation of your documents, we can help.
As you can see, we like to make things easy for you and help as much as possible. Trust us with the certified translation of your documents. Simply get in touch and, as well as offering guidance, we’ll try to answer all your questions.
